The joint venture, with its multi discipline engineering staff, provides creative, practical solutions with specific focus in the field of Pipeline Engineering, from hydraulic modeling and conceptual design through detailed design, commissioning and start-up activities. This engineering set-up operates from L&T’s modern engineering campus at Faridabad in India’s National Capital Region (NCR).

• Execution of cross country pipeline projects involving laying including OFC, Horizontal Directional Drilling, testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning of pipelines. Expertise includes design, engineering, procurement and construction of civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation for composite station works, catholic protection system for pipelines/stations.
• Construction of LNG terminals and LPG storage facilities
• Engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of facilities for underground cavern storage system for LPG.
• Erection of high capacity gas compressors and associated facilities.
• Construction of 18” dia 517 km long product pipeline including catholic protection and civil, mechanical, electrical and instrumentation works at stations en route for Sidhpur-Sangnaer pipeline project of IOCL. |

Energy, the most important factor of economic & social development, has a top strategic role and will continue to retain this position in the global economy. Of the world’s energy, 65% requirements come from hydrocarbons (oil and gas). Oil & Gas pipelines, therefore, rightly define the contours of a booming economy - forming a crucial part of energy distribution, enabling availability of crude oil from import terminals as well as domestic sources to the inland refineries and areas of demand for gas.
It is an established fact that pipelines are preferred as a cost effective, energy efficient, safe and environment friendly method of transportation for crude oil and gas as well as refined petroleum products. Interstate as well as transnational oil and gas pipelines transport large quantities of hydrocarbons across hundreds, and even thousands of kilometers traversing all kinds of terrains over the globe.
World energy demand is expected to further rise in the coming decades and India along with China will be one of the main drivers of this demand. India’s energy use is expected to double between 2005 and 2030. And with it, will increase the need to expand and develop better infrastructure for hydrocarbon distribution. |
